The Sistema Informatico of the State Archives of Florence (SiAsfi) is the on-line guide to the fonds and series kept if the State Archives of Florence.

You can find here descriptive records of:
- Fonds and series;
- their creators (that is institutions, corporate bodies, persons and families, who, in the course of their activities and business, created, maintained and handed down the fonds over the centuries);
- political contexts under which state institutions operated;
- the forms of the documents which belong to the fonds;
- the previous archival repositories where the fonds where kept before they were transferred to the State Archives of Florence.

The Guide can be searched following various search paths.

The guided search gives you the opportunity of browsing the following lists:

- fonds, arranged according to the types of fonds and the historical periods they were created or according to the functions which are documented in their records (just for the fonds before the Unification of Italy);
- creators (corporate bodies, persons and families);
- political contexts;
- forms of documents;
- previous archival repositories.

When the list is displayed, you can select one item: the description of the item selected will appear in a new window. Alternatively, you can try an advanced search just on the items displayed, asking for keywords or dates in specific fields or in every field of the descriptive record.
